Track teams from eight countries will begin competition today in the World Cup track and field meet at Canberra, Australia.
Competing in the three-day meet’s 20 men’s and 16 women’s events are teams from the United States, the Soviet Union, East Germany, Europe, Africa, Asia, Oceania and the Americas.
