Venice’s Ray Gordon scored on a 45-yard hook and ladder play on the Gondoliers’ second possession of the game when Ernie Soto passed to Dwayne Lortie, who lateralled to Gordon for the touchdown. After a fumbled kickoff, Soto completed three consecutive times to Lortie, the final one fora touchdown. Early in the second quarter, Dio Vrache recovered a Poly fumble and ran 80 yards toset up a five-yard scoring strike from Soto to Gordon. A 37-yard field goal by Stefan Hambleman of Poly was the Parrots’ only score in the first half. KEY PLAYERS
