UC Riverside Women Beat Chapman College

Angie Melander served for 18 points and Melanie Jones had 11 kills Tuesday night to lead the UC Riverside women’s volleyball team to a 15-12, 15-12, 15-12, victory over Chapman in a California Collegiate Athletic Assn. match played in the Panthers’ gym at Orange.
The Highlanders improve to 5-2 in conference and 12-5 overall. Chapman is 3-4, 15-9.
In NAIA District 3 action:
Southern California College 3, Cal Baptist 2--Carolyn Kienest had 23 kills and Kristy Woodburn added 17 to lead the Vanguards to an 8-15, 15-13, 8-15, 15-11, 15-12 victory.
SCC is 1-6 in conference and 5-8 overall. Cap Baptist is 1-6 and 2-20.
