Quarterback J.T. Snow and wide receiver Robbie Katzaroff teamed for four first-half touchdowns Friday night to lead undefeated Los Alamitos High School to a 35-0 Empire League win over Kennedy in Veteran’s Stadium at Long Beach.

Fifth-ranked Los Alamitos improved its first-place league record to 4-0 and overall record to 7-0. Kennedy is 2-2 and 2-5.

The combination of Snow and Katzaroff accounted for 230 yards in just two and a half quarters of play, leading the Griffins to scores on their first four possessions.

“When you have good players you have to give them the ball,” John Barnes, Los Alamitos coach, said. “They’re just good athletes who can make things happen.

“Another key was our pass blocking. They (the offensive lines) has done an outstanding job for us this year, but they’ll get a big test against Pacifica next.”

The duo of Snow and Katzaroff didn’t waste anytime putting Los Alamitos ahead early in the first quarter as Snow directed the Griffins on a four-play scoring drive that covered 55 yards, the last 20 coning on a touchdown pass to Katzaroff.

On Los Alamitos’ next three possessions, the pair hooked up for touchdowns of 25, 76 and 25 yards to put the Griffins up, 29-0, midway through the second quarter.

Snow and Katzaroff just missed a fifth touchdown when Katzaroff was tackled at the Fighting Irish 2-yard line after a reception at the end of the first half.

Snow enjoyed one of his best games of the season by completing 12 of 15 passes for 272 yards.

The Griffins finished scoring early in the second half. Running back Roger Roadstrom scored on a two-yard run following the recovery of a Kennedy fumble to make it 35-0.

Another bright spot for Los Alamitos was the Griffin defense, which kept Kennedy out of Los Alamitos territory in the first half.
