Loyola Marymount Loses Exhibition for Westhead

Loyola Marymount University lost its season-opening exhibition, 71-70, to the University of Victoria-British Columbia at Loyola Saturday. Victoria forward Jamie Newman sank two free throws with one second left to win the game.
The game marked Paul Westhead’s debut as Loyola Marymount’s coach. Victoria’s Cord Clemens led all scorers with 25 points. Freshman Enoch Simmons led Loyola with 18.
