Theroux, Evans Lead USD Past UC Irvine

Debbie Theroux scored 20 points and pulled down 12 rebounds, and Julie Evans scored 16 points to lead the University of San Diego’s women’s basketball team to a 58-54 victory over UC Irvine Wednesday in a non-conference game at the USD Sports Center.

USD built a 34-20 halftime lead and then held on to win its third game of the season against two losses. UC Irvine is 2-1. The Anteaters were led by Natalie Crawford, who scored 21 points, and Nadia Burks, who scored 10 and had 9 rebounds.

USD will play host to San Francisco State Saturday night.
