Nihilator, a record-setting 3-year-old son of Niatross and winner of 23 of 25 starts in 1985, was selected Harness Horse of the Year by the U.S. Trotting Assn. and the U.S. Harness Writers Assn.
Nihilator earned $1.9 million, a season record for a standardbred, to increase his record career earnings to $3.2 million. He also was chosen Pacer of the Year.
