Shooting of Burbank Man Linked to Gang
A 23-year-old Burbank man was in critical condition Sunday after being shot in what police said was a gang-related incident.
Juan Ruvalcaba suffered a gunshot wound to the head shortly before midnight Saturday, Sgt. Bob Kight said. The incident occurred in the 200 block of West Verdugo Avenue in Burbank. The hospital where Ruvalcaba is being treated was not disclosed, Kight said, because investigators feared members of the gang suspected of shooting the victim might try to harm him again.
Investigators expected to arrest suspects in the shooting late Sunday or early today, Kight said. He said the shooting was not a drive-by incident but refused to disclose further details.
