Eddie Solomon Jr., who pitched for the Atlanta Braves in the late 1970s, died early Sunday in a one-car crash at a Macon intersection. Solomon, 34, of Macon, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which occurred about 3:45 a.m., said Macon Police Lt. H.R. Beck.
Beck said the car Solomon was driving slammed into a utility pole, struck a chain link fence and overturned. Solomon was thrown from the car.
