Cerritos : Project Developer Chosen
Irvine-based Lincoln Property Co. has been selected to develop an 8.4-acre site next to the new fire station on the south side of South Street, east of Pioneer Boulevard. Preliminary plans for the site call for several restaurants and three or four major retail outlets, including a 25,000-square-foot department store.
Lincoln has until the end of the February to submit design plans for the development, which will be in keeping with the Early American theme of the fire station. If all goes well, construction could begin by October.
