Senior right fielder Alan Stankiewicz went 2 for 3 with 3 RBIs to back the four-hit pitching of right-hander Jim Halley as the Cal State Fullerton baseball team opened its season with an 11-1 nonconference victory over St. Mary’s Tuesday at Titan Field.

Fullerton scored seven runs in the first inning. After a bases-loaded walk gave the Titans their first run, Stankiewicz drove in two runs with a single to right, followed by consecutive singles by Dann Howitt and freshman Mark Razook.

Of Fullerton’s 14 hits, 13 were singles. Stankiewicz had a solo home run in the eighth.

Halley, who gave up the run in the first, went all the way for his first victory. He struck out five, walked six and allowed four hits.
