Braille Center Completed in Orange County
The Braille Institute’s Orange County Center has been completed at 527 N. Dale St., Anaheim.
The $1.3-million, 13,300 square-foot facility, which serves 700 blind and visually handicapped persons, built by the Burgess Co., Newport Beach, and designed by Ware & Malcolm, Irvine, includes such architectural details as recessed doorways, non-slip surfaces, ramps and special bathrooms.
The builder had to pay special attention to the use of contrasting colors and no-glare lighting to aid the vision of many of the institute’s partially sighted visitors.
