Sims Will Sub for Bey Against Biggs March 1
Jeff Sims, a world-ranked heavyweight contender, will replace David Bey as the opponent for Tyrell Biggs in a 10-round bout March 1 at Lancaster, Pa.
When the fight was moved from March 8 to March 1, Bey withdrew, claiming he didn’t have enough time to prepare, promoter Kathy Duva of Main Events said.
Sims, of Miami, has a 23-3-1 record, with 21 knockouts, and is ranked No. 7 by the World Boxing Council and 10th by the World Boxing Assn.
Biggs, the 1984 Olympic super heavyweight champion, is 8-0, with six knockouts.
