Home runs by Bill Dunkle and Anthony Reynoso Friday afternoon broke open a close game and led Fallbrook High School to a 7-1 win over Oceanside in the Goodman-Pirate Tournament at Oceanside.

Fallbrook pitchers Joe Comer and John Lane limited Oceanside (1-2) to four hits.

“It was a great game until the sixth inning,” Oceanside Coach Dave Barrett said. “I changed pitchers because my starter looked tired. The next thing I knew, they had two homers and four more runs, and we were out of it.

“It’s one of those things that you can always second-guess. But that’s what makes baseball such a great game. Of course, it can drive you crazy, too.”
