Craig Gill singled over the third baseman’s head to drive home the winning run in the bottom of the eighth as Tustin High School defeated Canyon, 4-3, Friday afternoon in Century League baseball action.

The Tillers (2-0, 5-0) tied the game in the bottom of the seventh on an infield single by Matt Lundin.

With the bases loaded, two outs and a full count, Lundin hit a slow roller toward third, beating the throw to first with a head-first dive. Because the runners were moving with the pitch, Tustin was able to score two runs on the play.
