Young Driver

While jogging peacefully by the side of the road the other morning, I was almost hit by a 3- or 4-year-old automobile driver. Yes, 3 or 4 years old, sitting on her mother’s lap (without a seat belt), holding the wheel, steering the car.

I hope that mother has at least the amount of intelligence needed to read this column and realize what a menace she is to her child, herself, and every other moving vehicle and pedestrian that happens to be in her vicinity.
