Santa Anita Feature Race Ends in a Dead Heat
Evening M’Lord and River of Kings finished in a dead heat for first place in the $40,000 feature race Thursday before 17,637 fans at Santa Anita.
Evening M’Lord, ridden by Rafael Meza, returned $5, $5.80 and $4.60. River of Kings, ridden by Gary Stevens, paid $4, $4.20 and $3.60. The horses were timed in 1:48 for the 1 1/8 miles on the turf.
Pol And Dic, ridden by Bill Shoemaker, paid $3.80 to show.
