Woman Dies in Crash: A 72-year-old Huntington Beach woman was killed and two people were injured in a two-car collision Sunday, police said. Doris Wells died of internal injuries suffered in the 9:45 a.m. accident at Golden West Street and Garfield Avenue, Police Lt. Jack Reinholtz said. Her husband, Robert Wells, 75, was treated for minor injuries at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital trauma center and released, a hospital spokesman said. The driver of the second car, Julie A. Trano, 20, also of Huntington Beach, was in serious but stable condition at the Fountain Valley hospital, the spokesman said. Reinholtz said the accident occurred as Robert Wells made a left turn from the southbound lane of Golden West onto Garfield. The Wells car was hit on the passenger side where Mrs. Wells was seated. An investigation was continuing.
