Brotz, Hannah Lead Players on Times’ All-South Coast Teams

Don Brotz of Wilson High School, a 6-foot-5 junior who averaged 19.9 points a game and was most valuable player in the Moore League, leads The Times’ All-South Coast boys basketball team, while Mandy Hannah of Compton, who averaged 22 points and was also Moore League MVP, leads the girls team.

The All-South Coast teams are two of 20 chosen from 10 Times circulation areas. Awards for coaches of the year and players of the year will be announced Saturday.

Others selected to the boys team are senior guard Osei Appiah and senior forward Chris Roscoe of Poly, senior forward Mark Beck of Mayfair, junior forward Ronald Coleman and senior guard Marlon Vaughn of Dominguez, junior guard Adrian Jackson of Lynwood, sophomore guard Darrick Martin of St. Anthony and junior center Shawn Williams of Millikan.

Others selected to the girls team are junior guard Katie Brazelton of St. Joseph’s; junior guard Latasha Causey, senior forward Shurrell Johnson and sophomore guard Trise Jackson of Lynwood, senior guard Shelley Schack of Artesia, and senior guard Connie McGiffert, senior center Jan Pearson, junior forward Pam Pearson and junior guard Terri Stewart of Millikan.
