Two Los Angeles men were struck and killed by a hit-run driver as they were standing on a connecting road between the Harbor Freeway and the Santa Monica Freeway. Miguel Romero, 30, had gotten out of his car after it was struck in a minor accident, said California Highway Patrol Officer Janet Engler. Another driver, Jose Gonzalez, 32, also of Los Angeles, joined Romero in the road, where both were then hit by a black car that did not stop, Engler said. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
