An El Cajon woman was killed Saturday night when her car was struck broadsided as she pulled onto a highway, police said.
The woman, Kirsten Prichard, 19, died at the scene. Elisa Osorio, 19, the driver of the second car, was taken by Life Flight helicopter to UC San Diego Medical Center, where she was listed in fair condition on Sunday.
A California Highway Patrol spokesman said Prichard was turning onto Jamacha Road from Hilton Head Road in the Cottonwood area southeast of El Cajon when the accident occurred. Osorio, also of El Cajon, was headed north on Jamacha, the CHP spokesman said.
