Woman Fatally Shot
A woman playing with cap pistols was shot and killed Tuesday, after one of her friends brought out a shotgun, which discharged and hit her in the chest, Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies said.
Arshon Denise Stewart, 19, died at Martin Luther King Medical Center after the midday incident at her home in the 9000 block of South Elm Street, in the Firestone area, Deputy Rick Adams said.
Stewart and two friends, a man and woman, were playing with cap pistols when someone produced a shotgun, Adams said. The gun discharged, hitting Stewart in the chest, he said.
The two friends were questioned, but no arrests were made.
