San Pasqual Athletes Dominate Track Finals

Athletes from San Pasqual High School broke five Avocado League records Saturday at the league track and field finals at MiraCosta College.

Hurdler Andrea Miller of San Pasqual set a league record in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles with a time of 45.93.

Trinessa Boyd of San Pasqual leaped 35 feet, 1 inch to win the triple jump, eclipsing the record of 34-21 1/2 by El Camino’s Renelda Thomas at last year’s finals. The San Pasqual relay teams set records in the 400 meters (49.37) and the 1,600 meters (4:05.3).

San Pasqual’s Nicole Rothey set a record in the 400 meters at 57.7.

In the boys’ events, Ramona High School’s Pat Alduenda tied the league record in the pole vault with a jump of 14-6. Alduenda shares the record with San Pasqual’s Jurt Brown, who set the record at last year’s final.
