Monterey Hills Condos
Your article on “Sinking Monterey Hills Condo Complexes” (May 18) reflected the casual attitude of the Community Redevelopment Agency towards the affected condo owners.
In truth, these owners are faced with urgent financial hardships. They cannot now sell their condos, nor will they be able to do so in the foreseeable future. Owners with young and growing families are unable to move to larger homes because they cannot recover their equity. Owners who are forced to move due to job changes are even worse off. They must pay for two homes, or walk away from their investment in Monterey Hills.
