Dylan, man. As in Bob Dylan. Reviving a generation of the ‘60s and another of the ‘80s, Bob Dylan brought back memories during a sold-out two-night stint at the Pacific Amphitheatre in Costa Mesa last Monday and Tuesday nights.

More than 35,000 people--from teen-agers who came to rock ‘n’ roll with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, who backed Dylan, to an older crowd gathered to hear Dylan’s legendary poetry and music--filled every available seat and lawn space.

“I’m here trying to recapture my youth,” said Mike Harges, 44, of Los Angeles.

“He’s a living legend and I wanted to check him out,” said Erin Kelly, an Irvine high school student.

Among the attendees at the concert were Dylan’s uncle, Max Zimmerman, 72, of Tarzana, and the singer’s cousin, Kristin LoCurto of Mission Viejo. “I’m very proud of him,” Zimmerman said.
