Two rare golden monkeys from China have been flown from Shanghai to San Francisco and will make their debut Thursday at the San Francisco Zoo’s Primate Discovery Center. Chou Shi, a female, and Chou Ming, a male, both 7 years old, will be on display for three months. The golden monkeys number about 10,000 in the wild and are classified as endangered by the Chinese. No zoo outside China has golden monkeys in its permanent collection.
