A single-engine airplane that crashed in a rugged canyon two miles short of Lake Havasu Airport killed three California men and two sisters from Pittsford, N.Y. The San Bernardino County coroner’s office identified the California victims as Kevin McCall, 25, of Cypress; Karry Miller, 28, of Redlands, and Charles Stearns, 32, of La Quinta. The two New York victims were identified as Christine Ludeke, 22, and her sister, Karen, 21. Authorities said the Cessna 172, registered in Palm Desert, was evidently attempting to land at Lake Havasu when it lost power and crashed.
