Eight anti-war activists were cited for misdemeanor trespassing Tuesday for refusing to leave Rep. Robert Dornan’s field office after cancellation of a scheduled meeting with the Garden Grove Republican.

The group, all signatories of the “Pledge of Resistance” to U. S. involvement in Nicaragua, were accompanied by more than 50 other sign-carrying demonstrators who stood outside the Lewis Street office, singing and chanting against aid to the Nicaraguan contra rebels . Three counter-demonstrators, supporting U. S. policy, also stood outside the office for more than an hour.

According to Dornan’s field representative, Raoul Silva, the congressman had to cancel all of Tuesday’s scheduled activities, including the meeting with the activists, because of medical appointments. Silva said Dornan offered to reschedule the meeting.

Others cited were Vicki Mayster of Santa Ana, Tim Cooper of Anaheim, Shirley Cereseto of Anaheim, Leslie and Merle Rabine of Santa Ana, Kim Madison of Anaheim and Vivian Jojola of Buena Park.
