Photographer Sues, Says Goetz Punched Her During Scuffle
A freelance Time magazine photographer says subway gunman Bernhard Goetz punched her during a scuffle between the photographer, Goetz and his girlfriend, who tried to prevent their picture from being taken.
Photographer Yvonne Hemsey, 37, filed a complaint Thursday against the subway gunman and his girlfriend, former go-go dancer Lisabeth Theisen, but his lawyers said they expect to settle the case out of court.
Theisen also filed a complaint against Hemsey. No one was arrested in the incident.
The photographer sued actor Robert Mitchum for $30 million in December, 1982, for bouncing a basketball off her head at a party for the opening of his film “That Championship Season.” He settled out of court for less than $250,000.
