Fire that began in a paint locker did an estimated $1 million damage to a new Rusty Pelican seafood restaurant that was under construction in the 300 block of West Harvey Drive in Glendale. Seven Glendale Fire Department companies controlled the flames in 35 minutes, but a spokesman for the Irvine-based restaurant chain said damage to the building and equipment was extensive and would require postponement of the planned opening, which had been scheduled for late August.
