Fullerton : Fund for Bruce Wayne Monument Is Set Up
The city has established a memorial fund to accept donations for a monument to honor Bruce Wayne, the air traffic reporter who died June 4 when his airplane crashed after taking off from Fullerton Municipal Airport.
Last week, the City Council voted to put Wayne’s name on a $2.5-million hangar now under construction and to build a monument at the airport, where the veteran pilot kept his plane. Lois Wayne, his widow, will be consulted by the city to agree on a monument design.
Donations should be made to the City of Fullerton, c/o the Wayne Memorial. The airport’s address is 4011 W. Commonwealth Ave., Fullerton 92633. For more information, Airport Director Rod Murphy can be reached at (714) 738-6323.
