Kent Wiese of Huntington Beach Tied for Lead in Junior Golf Tournament

NEW ORLEANS — Young golfers from Arizona, Texas and California were locked in a four-way tie in the 15- through 18-year-old division following Tuesday’s first round of the USF&G; Junior Classic.
Finishing at par 72 on the 6,820-yard Lakewood Country Club course were Kent Wiese of Huntington Beach, Scott Frisch of Scottsdale, Ariz.; Jack Bendetti of Phoenix, and Bryant Hiskey of Galena Park, Tex. Six others were tied at 74.
Keith Rick of Boca Raton, Fla., and Justin Leonard of Dallas were tied for the lead with 75 each among boys 11-14. Adele Moore, 16, of Dallas, had a 75 to lead the girls’ 11-18 division.
The tournament, 13th of 20 stops on the American Juniors tour, continues through Thursday.
