9 Firefighters Hurt in Echo Park
Nine Los Angeles City firefighters were injured early today when part of the ceiling of a flame-filled Echo Park restaurant collapsed.
The blaze, which broke out at 2:55 a.m. in a commercial complex at 1716 W. Sunset Blvd., was extinguished in 42 minutes. All the firefighters were released after treatment for head and neck injuries, authorities said. Damage to the Senor Burrito Restaurant and adjoining Fashion Five store was estimated at $125,000.
