The Death of Howard Jarvis
It is about time that we honor a man who has worked hard for the people of California.
His name is Howard Jarvis. He has saved millions of homeowners of this state many millions of dollars.
As an example, I purchased a home in 1952, and my monthly payment, including taxes, was $69 a month. After I paid my mortgage off, my property taxes alone were over $100 a month.
When Proposition 13 won, my taxes were reduced a great deal. This state is great for naming streets or buildings for people. I believe we should name a freeway after him. He deserved it.
