A 19-year-old woman is being held on suspicion of fatally stabbing her father in Pacific Beach, police said.
Shari Nelson is suspected of killing Lawrence James Nelson, 50, a self-employed maintenance man.
Police received a call about 10 a.m. Monday from a woman claiming to be a friend of the suspect. She told police her friend may have been instrumental in the father’s death, said Bill Robinson, a police spokesman.
When authorities went to the Pacific Beach apartment in the 900 block of Thomas Street where the father and daughter lived, they found Nelson dead. He had been stabbed in the head, neck and chest, Deputy Coroner Cal Vine said.
Shari Nelson was picked up for questioning and later booked into County Jail.
