Evangeline Olivares of Highland Park captured the 14-and-under title in the Los Angeles Junior Metropolitan Tennis Championship. Olivares defeated Maggie Powers of Lomita in the finals of the 55th annual tournament sponsored by the Los Angeles City Recreation and Parks Department.
Stepsister and stepbrother Wendy Dushman and Aaron Litwin won the Glendale contest in the World Junior Frisbee Tournament at Stengal Field and the 15-year-old co-champions then triumphed in the regional contest at Buena Park. Dushman and Litwin will play in the World Junior Frisbee Finals on Oct. 15-19 at Sea World in Orlando, Fla. Dushman finished third in last year’s finals. This is Litwin’s first appearance in the world championship.
