Local News in Brief : Simi Crash Victim Is From Chatsworth
A man who died Monday when his car struck a big rig, setting off a brush fire that charred 50 acres in Simi Valley was identified Thursday as Andrew John Deruttie, the Ventura County coroner’s office reported. Deruttie, 44, of Chatsworth, died from severe head injuries and was severely burned in the accident near Tierra Rejada and Madera roads, a coroner’s spokesman said. Deruttie was identified through a fingerprint, the spokesman said.
