James (Bonecrusher) Smith shook off a slow start and floored David Bey in the final round en route to a unanimous 10-round decision in a heavyweight fight at Fayetteville, N.C.
Smith, 245, of Magnolia, N.C., allowed the 230-pound Bey, of Philadelphia, to dictate the pace in the early rounds but turned the fight around and took control by landing 24 straight blows at one stage of the eighth round.
In a preliminary, Razor Ruddock (13-1-1) of Toronto scored a split-decision upset of former World Boxing Assn. champion Mike Weaver of Diamond Bar in 10 rounds.
