Quarterback Rich Gonzales of Diamond Bar, who started seven games last season as a freshman, has left the Oregon State football program, Coach Dave Kragthorpe said.
The 19-year-old sophomore apparently was dissatisfied with his position as the team’s third-string quarterback.
The Beavers were 1-6 record under Gonzales, but he did engineer one of the biggest upsets in Oregon State football history, completing 26 of 42 passes for 298 yards in a 21-20 upset of Washington in Seattle.
