Buena Park : Man Shot to Death in Argument Over $50

Share

An argument over $50 apparently led to the shooting death of Craig William Burns, 25, of Whittier in what might be a case of self-defense, police said Wednesday.

Police said that according to an account by Rachael Lynn Williams, 22, Burns and an unidentified boy came to her home Tuesday to demand $50 that Williams owed the boy. After making threats, Burns said he would return later that night for the money, police said. After Burns returned with the boy and an unidentified girl and was paid the $50, Burns allegedly forced his way into the house and threatened Williams’ boyfriend, William Anthony Jackson, 22, with a baseball bat and a knife, police said.

Jackson allegedly shot Burns twice in the head with a .44-caliber revolver, police said. Jackson was gone when officers arrived and was still at large late Wednesday, police said.
