A Mira Mesa man died after he was struck by a pickup truck Wednesday night while crossing the street in the 10700 block of Camino Ruiz, San Diego police said.
Richard Thomas DesMarais, 47, was running from the east side of Camino Ruiz to the west side about 10:50 p.m. Wednesday when he was hit, San Diego police spokesman Rick Carlson said. DesMarais was taken to Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, where he later died, the coroner’s office said.
Police are investigating the accident.
