Louman Upsets Moore in Seniors Tennis Event

John Louman upset No. 2-seeded Ray Moore Thursday, 6-1, 4-6, 7-6, in the opening round of the 35-and-over bracket of the Pacific Southwest Seniors Tennis Tournament at the Newport Beach Tennis Club.

In another first-round upset in the 35-and-over bracket, Guy Frich defeated Andrew Pattison, 6-1, 4-6, 7-6.

Play will continue today in the 35-and-over, 45-and-over and 60-and-over brackets. Former Wimbledon and U.S. Open champion Bobby Riggs will play in a 60-and-over match at noon.
