Fullerton Safety Baker Named PCAA Defensive Player of Week
Cal State Fullerton safety Trent Baker, whose school-record, 97-yard interception return for a touchdown helped the Titans rally Saturday to beat Idaho State, 35-25, was named the Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. defensive player of the week.
Baker had seven solo tackles and seven assists along with the interception that helped the Titans recapture the momentum late in the first quarter after trailing, 10-0. Baker, a senior from Los Angeles, also broke up two Idaho State passes.
San Jose State quarterback Mike Perez was named the PCAA offensive player of the week.
