U.S. Atty. Gen. Edwin Meese III said he will visit Mexico next month to press for information on Mexican efforts to prosecute those involved in the murder of one U.S. drug agent and the torture of another. At a news conference, Meese said he has accepted the invitation of his Mexican counterpart, Sergio Garcia Ramirez, for the Oct. 8-10 visit to discuss drug trafficking with other officials from Latin America. Meese said he intends to take up the case of Drug Enforcement Administration agent Enrique S. Camarena, who was tortured and murdered more than 19 months ago, as well as the recent abduction and torture of DEA agent Victor Cortez Jr.
