Iowa State football Coach Jim Criner said Saturday he hasn’t seen wide receiver Hughes Suffren for three days and, in response to a question, said there’s a “good possibility” Suffren was involved in a police investigation.
Suffren, a junior from Bonner Springs, Kan., started in Iowa State’s season-opening loss to Iowa a week ago, but did not dress in Saturday’s 64-9 victory over Indiana State.
Asked after the game why Suffren didn’t dress, Criner replied, “I’d really prefer not to answer that question right now because I’m in a compromising situation.”
Ames television station WOI reported Friday night that Suffren and another Iowa State player were being investigated in connection with the use of a stolen credit card.
