College Roundup : Warde’s Five Goals Lead UC Irvine to 15-6 Water Polo Win Over Pacific

UC Irvine defeated the University of the Pacific, 15-6, Sunday afternoon in Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. water polo action in Stockton.
Anteater Tom Warde, a sophomore from Marina High School, led both teams with five goals. Julian Harvey, Kevin Wood and Mike Halphide scored two goals each for Irvine (3-0, 6-3).
The Tigers are 0-1, 3-6.
In men’s soccer action:
Cal Poly Pomona 2, UC Irvine 0--After a scoreless half, the Broncos’ Jose Mellin scored four minutes into the second half in a nonconference game at Irvine. John Lima scored with 38 seconds left and the Anteaters fell to 2-7. Cal Poly Pomona is 3-5-2.
Old Dominion 2, Cal State Fullerton 0--Mike Rouette scored on pass from Steve Larson with 8:45 left in the second half and Doros Constantino scored on a pass from Sean Crowley three minutes later as Old Dominion (8-1-1) won its own tournament. The Titans are 1-4-1.
