Local News in Brief : Mission Hills Man Guilty in Wife’s Death

Share

A Mission Hills man was found guilty of second-degree murder Thursday in the shooting death of his wife.

San Fernando Superior Court Judge Robert D. Fratianne pronounced the verdict against Eddie James Roberson, 47, who had waived a jury trial. Fratianne also rejected Roberson’s plea of not guilty by reason of insanity.

Police found the body of Lori Lynn Roberson, 27, in a parking lot behind the couple’s apartment the night of Jan. 18 when responding to reports of gunfire in the 10000 block of Sepulveda Boulevard. An autopsy determined that she had been shot five times.

Roberson testified Thursday that he remembered little about that night except that he fired one shot inside the apartment after his wife struck him during an argument.

Roberson could receive 27 years to life in prison when he is sentenced Dec. 3.
