The Chicago Bulls allowed the New Jersey Nets to sign free-agent forward Orlando Woolridge in exchange for draft choices Thursday.

The Nets signed Woolridge, a five-year NBA veteran, to an offer sheet after the Bulls gave up the right to first refusal in exchange for a first-round draft choice in 1987 and second-round picks in 1988 and 1990.

Terms of the offer sheet were not disclosed.

Woolridge, who played at Notre Dame, was the Bulls’ No. 1 draft pick in 1981. He has averaged 17.4 points and 4.7 rebounds per game in 354 NBA contests.
