Bell Gains 266 Yards as Harvard Tops Agoura

Andy Bell rushed for 266 yards and four touchdowns to lead Harvard High to a 50-34 victory over Agoura on Saturday night.

Bell scored on runs of 19 and 53 yards in the first half to help the Saracens (2-2) to a 24-21 advantage. He had 165 yards rushing in the first half.

The 175-pound senior tailback added touchdown runs of 9 and 21 yards in the second half.

The teams combined for 84 points and 835 yards. The Saracens preferred the ground game, rushing for 367 of their 445 total yards. And Agoura (1-3), unable to mount a ground game, passed for 303 of their 390 total yards.

Agoura’s Rick Dobrowski passed for 199 yards and two touchdowns, completing 13 of 18 with one interception.

Wide receiver Mike Eckel also had a big night, catching 10 passes for 165 yards. He scored one touchdown on a 13-yard pass from Dobrowski in the second quarter.

Charger tight end Ladd Elmore caught 7 passes for 118 yards and scored a touchdown on an 8-yard pass from Dobrowski in the second period.

Agoura running back Steve Klimes accounted for the Chargers’ other 2 touchdowns, scoring on a pair of 6-yard runs.

Harvard broke a 21-21 second-quarter tie with one second left when Dominic Sandifer booted a 57-yard field goal.

Reserve tailback Martin Holly also scored two touchdowns for the Saracens on runs of 1 and 4 yards.

Saracen fullback Alex Huh also figured in the scoring, breaking loose for a 31-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Agoura backup quarterback Scott Heflin relieved Dobrowski in the fourth period and passed for 104 yards, completing 8 of 12. He was intercepted once.

Harvard quarterback Mike Patterson was 6 of 10 for 78 yards.

The Saracens broke the game open in the second half. They increased a two-point lead to 37-28 late in the third period when Bell scored on his 21-yard touchdown run.
