PREP FOOTBALL : Los Amigos Coasts to 28-8 Win Over Bellflower

Los Amigos High School scored on its first three possessions Friday night and coasted to a 28-8 nonleague win over Bellflower at Garden Grove High.

Los Amigos improved its record to 3-2. Bellflower is 1-4.

On their first possession, the Lobos drove 71 yards in 9 plays. Lito Soifua capped the drive with a seven-yard run. Terry King’s first of four extra points made it 7-0.

Lobo junior Andy Baturevich intercepted a pass on Bellflower’s ensuing possession and returned it 52 yards to the Buccaneer 12-yard line. The interception set up a 15-yard scoring pass from Baturevich to wide receiver Jim McGee.

Bellflower lost 21 yards on its next possession and Los Amigos followed with a five-play, 42-yard drive. Soifua made it 21-0 on a one-yard run.

In the first half, Los Amigos outgained Bellflower, 153 yards to 32.

Four Los Amigos players combined to rush for 194 yards. Junior Jeff Greeney led Los Amigos with 72 yards in 9 carries.

Baturevich, the county’s fourth-ranked passer, completed 5 of 11 attempts for 61 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 interception.

Los Amigos, which opens Garden Grove League play next week against La Quinta, held Bellflower to just 88 yards.
